I think 66% of the stuff they teach you at school is useless that you would never use in the real world. I was helping my brother with his science homework today,some of the questions were:

I woke up to 20cms of snow outside this morning.  I had a big bowl of corn pops, and then my brother & I went outside to shovel out the driveway.  an hour later we were finally done, but I wasn't completely knackered, so I went did the neighbours driveway too (shes a crazy 70 year old German lady).   My back was killing when I came inside, I crashed on the couch for what turned into a 2 hour nap. 

it's the most snow we've had so far this winter, and I'd say the coldest day too.  Still, 20cms, and -20c isn't that extreme is it?  I heard three people (including my mom) say 'so much for global warming!  I knew it was a myth!'.  I tried to google what the average annual snow fall is for Ontario, wikipedia says Toronto gets 'an average annual snowfall of about 115 centimetres'.  Well I'm gonna take a punt and say we are far below the 115cm this year.   My mom was trying to tell me how she has seen photos of her grandmother on Christmas Day when she was a little girl (in the 1920s), there wasn't any snow in the photos, so that proves there have been winters wihtout any snow before.   Well, I've seen photos from 2006 of polar bears stranded on melting ice bergs that have split form the ice caps.  And everyday I see 2 or 3 three squirrels, don't the squirrels usually go somewhere else for the winter?  I've only had 5 snow days, last year we had 20!  I don't think I've worn my thermal underwear to school one time this year, last year I wouldn't go outside without my thermal underwear on.  maybe I've just become climatized to winter after 5 years in Canada.

the scientific evidence that global warming exists is compelling.   and there is enough proof that the world is getting hotter & climates change is occuring.  so why are people so desperate to pretend its not happening?
