what % of school is a waste of time?

[this is good]
Aluminium....It shall take over the world!

The average person could use more glass bottles instead of cans. Also, aluminuim exposure has been linked to alzheimer's disease so reducing aluminium consumption is a good thing.

Read this passage (complete article link is below):

Environmental aluminum is linked to increased rates of AD. Aluminum is a common constituent of the environment and has no recognized biologic function. It is absorbed primarily through the intestine but also through the lungs and skin. Seven studies have related elevated aluminum concentrations in drinking water to an increased incidence of AD.

Of more practical importance is a case-control study which looked at the association of AD and lifetime exposure to aluminum in antiperspirants and antacids. Scientists found a direct correlation. The more antiperspirant that was used, the more likely the person would develop AD. The same held true for aluminum antacids. The risk in high users was as high as 300%.

There is another line of independent evidence that shows aluminum is associated with the cause of AD. If persons affected with AD are given a compound which binds aluminum and helps to remove it from their body, they deteriorate at much slower rates compared to those who do not receive the binder.

As for the percentage of school that is a waste of time... I'd say 50% is filler. Kids who are tutored (actors, musicians, etc) are only required 4 hours/day and they learn everything needed to graduate. Reports, projects, learning activities not to mention recess, lunch, assemblies, study hall, PE, band, choir, art, detention, and (for us church school kids) bible class (gasp!) are all time killers so we stay in school 12 long years instead of 6 (not including preschool and Kindergarten which are the most important school years in my opinion). I'm not saying that the other stuff is not important, beneficial or valuable to know and experience.

wow, i'm not wearing deoderant any more! i think reducing aluminium consumption is a good idea, kindof the same way that reducing oil & coal consumption is good .... the goal is not to be over reliant on one particular resource, it wouldn't be a good idea to switch totally from using aluminium to glass. and we should all be less wasteful in general.
